Project Overview
Ciqikou Square is located in the heart of Ciqikou, a thousand-year-old town in Chongqing. As an integrated urban cultural tourism complex, it combines cultural experiences, commercial leisure, and tourist services. The building's exterior features BBC inorganic colored rendering mortar by renowned architect Zhang Mingzhu, replicating the stone texture of traditional Bayu architecture. This design harmonizes with the ancient town's bluestone streets and stilted house buildings, achieving the vision of "ancient charm with contemporary expression."
Challenges and Requirements
Located on the banks of the Jialing River, the project faces high humidity and a long rainy season; exterior materials must offer superior water and moisture resistance. In the ancient town zone, strict controls govern architectural aesthetics, requiring exterior colors and textures to harmonize with the historic district. High foot traffic in commercial areas demands wall surfaces that are both durable and visually appealing.
Solution
Featuring Mingzhu Master's BBC inorganic colored facade mortar, this material delivers a high-fidelity stone texture that perfectly captures the architectural stone aesthetics of Ba-Yu regions. It offers exceptional weather resistance and waterproofing properties. The inorganic mineral composition ensures long-lasting color retention, meeting the long-term maintenance requirements for ancient town scenic areas.
